Built in the late 19th century as the summer residence of the Feltrinelli family, this elegant neo-Gothic villa overlooks the Brescia shores of Lake Garda. The result of careful restoration, Villa Feltrinelli is now one of Europe’s most exclusive luxury hotels, surrounded by 80,000 square meters of parkland, historic pavilions, swimming pools, a lemon grove, and gardens where every detail is designed to cultivate an absolute sense of beauty and tranquility.
The most recent additions include fitness rooms with retractable panoramic glass walls that can be fully opened or closed according to weather conditions. Finished with decorative shelves and a wall with a mirror, they represent a new concept of outdoor comfort—flexible, elegant, and perfectly integrated into the greenery.
In the grove, a free-standing conservatory with a four-pitch roof and openable roof lantern creates a cozy, intimate space ideal for reading or relaxing. Not far away, two bespoke gazebos serve their own distinct functions. One, octagonal and decorated, acts as a support point for the pool area, while the other—white and protected by light curtains—is dedicated to outdoor massages in complete harmony with nature.
A key feature of this project is the pavilion on the terrace, transforming a once unused area into a breakfast room overlooking the garden and the lake. The copper roof, the wood ceiling, the decorative fabric valances, and iron columns with capitals create a sense of both solidity and lightness, while vertical roller blinds echo the façade colors with subtle elegance.
Our work on this discreet yet deeply rooted project progressed over time to ensure that each addition would be in complete harmony with the history and nature of the setting. Since the early 2000s, L’Officina dei Giardini has worked alongside Villa Feltrinelli to design and erect bespoke structures conceived as extensions, shelters, or other functional spaces, always in line with the identity of the villa and its gardens.
Three elements of great refinement complete the project: a wood-roofed colonnade with two-tone awnings sheltering one of the villa’s entrances, a profiled copper canopy at the lakeside, and a compact outdoor bar serving the fitness areas. Understated additions, designed to complement both the architecture and the guest experience.
