… all kinds of geometric shapes: curves, swirls plants, arabesques …
The most common functions of steel are sheets, joists, wires, friezes and profiles. These shapes are produced either by drawing, with molds specially created for this purpose. The thicknesses can vary from several centimeters (or even decimals for some steels) to a few microns, depending on the needs. Contrary to popular belief, steel has a completely satisfactory thermal resistance, up to three times higher than aluminum. The thermal cutting technique used for aluminum is of little interest here, since the sections of the steel profiles, which are less voluminous, provide a smaller surface for the transmission of heat or cold.
